Divergence

Some of my friends now are over 30. [ Myself Included :( ]
I mean most of us are over 30.
In my travels I met some friends that are 22 or 25 now.
But most of us are old as shit.
And as we get older I hear them say ‘getting left behind’ a lot.
Like life is a moving train or something.
I think we’re on the train whether we like it or not.
And we’re all moving at light speed.
Which version is scarier?
Moving at light speed with everyone.
Or being by yourself, left behind by society?
Perhaps if they all have a wife and kids,
and you don’t,
then you are somehow left behind,
as the train of life moves on without you?
Changing at a different rate of everyone,
over time, of course adds up,
and the divergence could become so great,
as to have an effect on the way you connect with others…
As the saying goes,
if you want to lose all your friends,
become extremely successful and wealthy.
But the opposite could also be true,
that if you become impoverished, or so blatantly ‘unsuccessful’,
that your very sight could provoke divergence…
