Moments

When someone says: “I love my Life”

When someone says: “I love my Life”

or “I hate my Life”

Hold on a second. I know this is trivial.

But do they mean the totality of their life?

Or the Moment they are currently in?

Do they mean a set of Moments? Or Events? Or People? But discount the rest?

This in my opinion, is actually the correct way to look at things.

Ya I appreciate the totality of my life for sure. Otherwise these ‘moments’ wouldn’t occur. The moments occur in a Tapestry on top of your Life.

But all of existence occurs moment to moment.

Sadly I think we lose sight of this. That this moment is just a moment.

The next moment will shift. And undoubtedly so.

People like Hemmingway had many moments. Nobel moment. Fishing moment. War moment. Sadly the last moment wasn’t so grand.

We must have this view of life. That even the worst times are just… moments. They will pass. But not so much pass. They are a moment. And that is all. The next moment will be different. And that’s okay too.

We begin to appreciate the moments. Appreciate what each moment offers. A lesson. A depression. A joy. Food. Whatever it is.

This moment is a moment.

The next moment is a moment.
