Question Master

A satirical chat-show dialogue about who controls the questions and how an interview can weaponize the past.

Welcome! Everyone to the 300th taping of Britain’s most popular Chat Show! With Price Willis!

‘‘Chears from the crowd. YES. I love this!”

Today we are welcoming a new guest on the show. It’s his first time.

“CHEERS FROM THE CROWD YES!”

It is none other then Ben Washington. The new star of the Boxing Movie depicting the life of none other than 3 time champion Joe Lewiston!

“CHEERS FROM THE CROOOOOWD”

Hello Mr. Lewiston!

Welcome to the show.

“Thanks for having me! Very excited to be here to talk about my new film. Coming out this Sunday!”

… the crowd is silent.

The Interviewer, Price Willis, looks mad.

Yes. Well let’s begin then.

“Sure!” the actor beams with excitement.

Mr. Lewiston. Is it true that you once got in a fight with your wife, at a restaurant in Mexico?

… “It was more of an argument. I don’t know why you’re bringing this up though.”

Just wondering that’s all! HAH “CHEERS FROM THE CROWD!”

Now Mr. Lewis.

“Lewiston”

Yes Mr. Lewiston. This ‘argument’ with air quotes, “CROWD LAUGHS”, was of course caught on film. So would you not say that throwing a glass of water at your spouse is therefore more than argument. And perhaps. A fight?

“Well I guess so. Please stop showing that video. We’d both been traveling for a few days. Very little sleep. And something came up. We both regret it. Especially myself.”

Well this looks like a fight to us… no? “CROWD CHEERS”

“Okay I guess it was a fight”

MOVING ON!

Now Mr. Livingston. In this photo dated from 1975, at a party, did you wear an incensitive costume? Of a race we can only assume from the photo?

“WHERE DID YOU GET THAT”

Mr. Livingston. Please. I am the interviewer here.

“Okay I see. This is your game. You bring people on. And ask them questions of your choosing. Making them look bad. I thought we were here to CHAT about my new movie!”

We’ll get to that. But please answer the question about the Costume. Do you regret it?

“Sir. When will I be able to ask Questions. It seems you are the Question Master, and through your Questioning, can bring up the most horrible things from my past.”

We’ll get there! “CHEERS FROM THE CROWD!”

“okay well yes. that was in 1975. I regret it of course I do.”

Okay perfect. Thank you. Now we will go to a commercial break. Then YOU can ask questions! “CHEERS FROM THE CROWD!!!!!”
