Sweet Fruits
and Touching Space
An uncle’s reminder of mortality becomes a declaration to touch space and eat the sweetest fruits before dying like everyone else.
my favorite thing my uncle ever told me was:
“Bo ato chi?”
direct translation is
“Why, who are you?”
meaning you’re nothin’, you’ll get old and die just like the rest of us.
little did he know i’m gonna touch space
and eat the sweetest of fruits,
before i die like the rest of us.
