The Beginning

At the beginning of entrepreneurship, founders trade unpaid time for probability—a chance whose controllability may resemble choosing lottery numbers.

At the beginning of an entrepreneurial journey

You dont have capital

And seek it from others

But you have time and energy (labor)

The capitalist has the savings

And is looking to get a return

But needs labour

In meeting them

Occasionally hundreds

You trade your time,

And they interview you

But they have employees too

Who are getting paid for their time

While you are not

So what do you get

If not money?

You get probability!

A chance at something

Much like a lottery ticket in terms of likelihood

But you get a slight feeling of being able to change the odds

Ever so slight!

Like a man who thinks:

“I chose my lotto numbers, therefore i have better odds”

Yet it is gambling all the same.
