The Steak
A diner orders the steak he cannot afford, choosing a taste of the unknown over everything he already knows.
“We have some Specials on tonight. On the mains we have a Lobster Linguini specialty of the Chef.”
Oh I think I already know what I want.
“Would you like to start with some drinks?”
Sure bring me what I know.
“And what would that be?”
Oh you know.
“My apologies sir I don’t think I do.”
You must.
“I do not.”
Okay the Spanish Cerveza looks great.
“It’ll be right out!”
Oh and waiter… may I ask one more thing?
“of course sir.”
For my main course, I’d like the Steak I can’t afford.
“Im not sure I understand”
Anything I can afford I know. The thing I cannot I do not. I’d like that Steak please. A bit of the Unknown tonight.
“Coming right up sir.”
