I think I worked for 20 something days in a row. Sitting in my car, I couldn't even string words together; no thoughts - but the feeling that I'd hit some proverbial wall...
Then I remembered something. The show I used to watch as a kid. The hero that I'd looked up to.
Watching cartoons as a kid, there always seemed to be a way out for the main character. Whatever villain they were battling, they always seemed to make it out.
Mind you, the writers of the show were very adept at keeping you on the edge of your seat. They made you believe there was no way out. Then, at the edge of defeat, it seemed like there was always another level.
Sitting in my car, at the end of two straight weeks of coding, my brain fried to its last nerve endings. Realizing my path to the One Person Unicorn ever more distant...
I asked myself. Do I have another level?
Of course these shows were just shows. But was there something to learn from them?
It seems that Goku, even Vegeta, had a need. Some sort of a battle call. Do I have that?
Check! I wanna party in Mykonos 2026 with all my Best Friends and Cousins.
The main characters also were mega competitive. They liked the thrill of battle. Simply for the sake of it. They were so obsessed with the Game, they were above money.
Check! I gave all my money away so I have less distractions.
Another thing was that the main characters eschewed all sense of normalcy. They would work all day. Hungry for the Win above the trivialities of life. I mean how many steaks can a man eat! Am I right?
Check... Check... Check...
But, how did they always find another level? Where did they acquire these incredible powers.
The main Characters, Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Luffy even, seemed to have this Power within them all along. They had to dig deeper, literally as the saying goes... deeper... ever deeper, through their own well of despair... until they finally reached it.
The power they had all along.
Only in times of extreme distress. When there was nothing left in the tank. Did they have to dig even deeper, to uncover Another Level.
